Any place to purchase them discounted? Their dealers seem to be very ridged on msrp.

Why stihl? Looking for chainsaw? We've always used Husqvarna's at my work and love them.

Creature of habit. Looking for a pole pruner. I did check out Husqvarnas website though. I'm gonna see if our small tools guy has any stroke on pricing tomorrow.

I've always been told Stihl was the best, but when the ignition quit on mine I bought a Husky. 8 Cords later I'm still on the original chain with some sharpening. Bought their weed eater last summer too. I am sold on Husky's forever.

That's ok, I'm just showing my age.

You're only old if you can remember Bengt, Arnie Kring and Torsten Hallman coming over and racing in the inter-am series in 1970.
Or in 1966 when Torsten showed up at Hopetown to show us all how slow we were on TT bikes. We all just stood there with our mouths hanging open. Then to just rub it in, he returned in 67 with Roger DeCoster, Joel Robert, Dave Bickers, and Ake Jonsson, all finishing way ahead of the "americans"
Then every teenager with a dollar to his name spent it to make Torsten a multi millionaire buying gear from THOR. If you didn't wear a Joffa mouth guard and THOR boots and chest protector, you were a squid of the highest order.
I bought and raced Huskies from then on. Still have the 82 250 XC.

This what Torsten and his buddies showed up with in 66 and 67.

Ake Jonsson Hopetown 67

Roger DeCoster Hopetown 1967 He hadn't even thought about talking to Suzuki when this was taken. Notice they don't have numbers on the plate, but letters. A,B,C.... they weren't AMA riders and were just there as an exhibition, to show us how bad we were.

Now that was a flash back. Great video, thanks for posting that.
I watched that at the bottom of the hill that dropped into town. Those guys flew down that hill.

I only know because I owned a Bultaco Matisse. One of the few bikes I wish I had never sold.
Want to take a swing at what matisse means and why they were called that?

Back to the OP's thread.
Its hard to beat Stihl's stuff and they have a stellar reputation.
But as you can see from the previous posts and video, the coooool people use Husqy. There is just something about a Husqy chainsaw with a little bean oil in the tank to make the work go easier.

I have used a variety and I do like the Husky the best, the RPM of their saws is impressive... Keep the chain sharp, hold it wide open and watch the chips FLY...
