The Hi-Po version of the 65/66 Mustangs were factory "K" Codes, "C" was a 289/200HP (2 Barrel), "A" was 289/225HP (4 Barrel) and the "K" code was 271 HP, solid Lifters, Hi-Po Intake and Exhaust manifolds as well as a special exhaust that was channeled through the rear valance, also available with the GT Option 225.

All Shelby's started life as "K" models and then modified with different Carb and intake (ehxaust remained the same) and the HP was listed at 300 :thumb:

The first forum I ever got involved with was the Classic Mustang Forum and the screen name just stuck as I ventured out to other areas.

It has been there since 1987 and is a 27 hole Gary Player course (Private) that I was a member of till we moved to Havasu......it's a pretty good test of golf with lots of ups and downs :D

I have 2many and none even remotely as nice as that one...Truth be told I was never sure it was really a factory GT. It had all the right stuff, it was all NOS and even the dash had the "D" hole which supposedly only the factory GT's would have. All the hangars were correct on the exhaust as well as the Block/exhaust and intake manifolds and Carb.......but the build date was 11/11/64 which some sources say was before the first factory GT's were actually built.

In any case I sold this car about 10 years ago and at the time it went for $28K which was "ALL THE MONEY" back then for a near perfect car.

Black interior(Pony), 8K RallyPac and center console.....it was a nice car but not really much fun to drive with a 3:90 rear end, 4 speed (very long throw) and no power steering, but it sure looked good :D

Paul, I think there were only about 7200 Kcodes built in 65 which is about 1% of production and most were coupes/fastbacks so I would guess that the production figures for a Kcode convertible alone were well below 3000... I would have to dig out my books that I havent looked at in 25 years... :)
