Man, I already miss summer and all the boating content. Yes Jim, we know you're a lucky bastard and your boating season is still going strong in FL. Just out here in CA and AZ we are finally experiencing some not so boating weather... I think it will be 65* today in OC.

So besides boating what does everyone do in the winter time to keep from going crazy? Post pics of what you like to do; travel, sand cars, snowboard & snow ski, sports with the family?

Me I love going to my son's Pop Warner Football games but this weekend is his last game or going to my daughter's Tae Kwon Do classes. I might join in a bowling league just for fun... That is the only thing I know where you get better as you drink.

I don't necessarily dislike Winter. We spend a lot of time in the heat in the summer, so I kind of like the break. But we also don't stop boating. We just use a different boat. Not unusual for us to go fast Thanksgiving week, or in December, or January. February is kid of tough, but we never stop boating, we just slow down a little :D

I like winter because I usually sleep better. We put the flannel sheets and blankets back on the bed and have our coffee on the porch.

Oh gawd, I'm getting old. LOL

I like winter only because there's no hurry to get up and get on the water, then come back and clean up the boat etc. Now our days are spent in Laughlin making donations to the casinos or in the desert going for a drive.

Where do you go boating in the winter? Havasu and Parker still?

This could be something cool to get a group of people together and head out to Havasu and chill.

If it were in the 60s, we would still be boating up here (PNW). ;-)

The 4+ months of winterized existence up here is spent planning and buying boating upgrades. No wrenching allowed during sun/cloudy months. Gotta take advantage of every boating-worthy day.

Yes. :D Not uncommon to do a close the bar run with blankets on board :D

We like snow sports too, just for vacation (week is enough), snow skiing and playing in hottubs, just don't like shoveling or driving in it anymore, it gets cold out here too, sorry, don't mean to rub it in.

I dislike the cold! Refuse to put on a "winter coat". I hate the bundled up attire...miss my bikinis and miniskirts :(

I try to be like a winter ant and save up for the spring and summer :(

You can always road trip it like hotboat did, it's a great place visit and I know someone that can get you out on a boat anytime, because he don't work.

Spent time in Chicago during the winter on a couple projects when I was single.
My dad referred to it as un-wrapping a gift. You have no idea what you are getting until you un-wrap the winter coat, sweater, shirt etc.
I told him it was playing poker; you might get lucky and find out you have a royal flush or nothing. Either way you are playing with fire and it might end up hurting you at the end of the night.

We went years back when George( aka TheCarDudes ) organized one and I took my stock chevy the hard way. Never again. I think 2FF was behind me as I was driving with three wheels on the ground. We would be up to meet you guys there but I'll take the fire road.

Don't get me wrong boating in the summer is a blast. I think I like the winter better becuse the crowds get smaller and the priorities change to desert rides with you're friends and cooking good food and sitting around the campfire.

I am looking forward to Turkey day at the river...Its always a blast

Cienega Springs Rd off 95/Riverside Drive. It's a graded dirt road all the way to the bar. I think it's about 5 miles.

I walked there pushing a stroller with two rear flat tires. It's easy!

I wasn't with a guy. I was with a girl. She offered to push the stroller but I didn't work out that day and the 5k walk was not enough so I got an arm and back work out too! I borrowed her child lol

Usually the only thing that changes is the amount of time we spend on the water. We will ski (trunk it), most of the winter, as weather permits. This year will be a little different, probably spend quite a bit of time getting the old man's new garage in order.

Ok. With all this winter boating talk I need a place in Florida or west coast where all these talks of still boating in winter happens.

No saltwater. So not only will I need a place in havasu or Parker that u speak of. I will need a boat out there in the garage. I won't tow from east to west. :). On a break :)
