Anyone else here into flying RC models? Or...RC stuff in general?

I will also be building a quadcopter for aerial video use...but that will be on the back burner for a little while. I still need to do some more research on them, and save up some money.

Here's my collection of completed aircraft - there are 5 or 6 still under construction, I'll get them posted when they are done.

Nice stuff, I had a 42" R/C boat, but sold it after I had my first (and last) accident, drinking beer and operating doesn't mix in remotes either............................lmao.

Which is one of the reasons I do trains. I tried RC, and crashed all of it. I just don't have the ability to do that.... model trains don't crash...well, at least not like RC planes do...and I can drink a beer while I do it...nice...LOL....

I've had RC trucks and boats. I would break the boat almost everyday I used it so I ended up giving it away to a friend.

I've been thinking about buying another Traxxas Stampede, but I know if I do that I'll use it 3 times (unless break it sooner) then wait a year or so to go buy the part I need and fix it. You've gotta really be "into" it and I'm not anymore.

May seem a little strange, but the guy that does the prop work for my GN props also does makes props for this guys RC boat, among a few others.
I would have never thought what worked for an RC would transfer to a full size boat, but I guess it does. I learned to stop disagreeing with the guys years ago.
We owe more of our success in GNs to the prop work than we openly admit to. If the prop is right, all the HP and driving can't fix it.

Cool story. I've wanted an rc boat for a while...but I really want a Chris Craft type barrel back. I was all for one...until I found out how much they are to build. Now it's on the back burner. I plan to get a PBY Catalina hopefully in the near future...so maybe that will take care of my boat want?

How do you like the X830? Does it fly "well" with a GoPro and gimbal? What are your typical flight times?

I've been wanting a multirotor for a while just to use with a GoPro...

Something with tracks, that would be better, one hand for the speed control, one for my beer.

That's a weird place to crash it, why didn't you just get out of the way? Did you know what direction it was headed?

I like it, the gimbal makes a world of a difference as far as video quality. The have a new foldable model  Flight times with one battery are somewhere around 7 minutes.

LOL, I didn't really have a choice as it threw two blades about 50ft. up.
