My parents towed with a chrysler wagon for a while. It had a big block...but didn't look near as cool as the one in the picture above. That is Cole Man or Cole Man II...I can never remember which one is which. LOL.

Towing with a GMC 2500.
We'll order a F450 or Denalli 3500 this spring.

Nothing special...an '02 Avalanche Z71.

I used to clown on Avalanches pretty hard...but after owning this one for a while - I take most of it back. Overall it's a great Swiss army knife.

I've never really been a fan of the caprice wagon. Just so damn big! :D

Right now I use whatever friend's truck is available to me since I recently sold my truck. I'll buy some other GM vehicle before next summer. Possibly a Tahoe, maybe a dropped dually or perhaps another lifted Duramax. Who the hell knows.

Yes it did, along with the sun roof, 4" of foam and shag carpet, wood paneling and check out the old school surf racks.
And don't forget the "If this vans a rockin, don't bother knockin" sticker in the back window.
I was 17 when I bought it brand new, making $3.25 an hour.
I'll bet you were popular with dads when you showed up in that van to pick up your dates back then :action-smiley-035:

No pictures but 2001 or 2002 had a 1996 Exploder. Towing 18' jet boat home, 4 peeps in vehicle, loaded with shit. Swerved to avoid debris on road, almost lost it in a ditch because of the sway from the boat, etc. Needless to say the Exploder was gone shortly after that.
Still got the 2500 HD now. :)

OK Jerry, for extra points, where was that pic taken? I could take you to within about 20ft or so of the spot today.
Comstock was THEE man with Evinrudes in those days. His shop was there for decades.

Mercury wasn't even a name when that picture was taken,

Wild guess:
1. Long Beach Calif?
or
2. New Jersey Shore? (Ford Connection).

Naw, I wasn't allowed to cross the street yet when that was taken.
Comstock's shop was in Venice/Santa Monica. He was the man when it came to outboards. Lot of records set in his day either by him, or by customers.
That boat is kind of ahead of its time too. Basically a flat bottom, but the hull is layered thin sheets of veneer, not planking. Doable with a small outboard in those days. It was Joe Mandella that took that idea and applied it to high powered inboards that were normally planked. But Comstock was no dummie.
