I think the last year was 2004. They raced just above the bridge out in front of Davis Camp.

I know that Ron Hill and others were trying to make it happen again but I never heard of it going through.

When I was searching the internet to find some more info, I found this on the 2013 calendar (with the typos) but I don't remember it happening this year.

Drivers will be challenged to manuever the narrow one-and-a-quarter-mile course while managing the seven-knot current. Spectators will catch the action up close from the shores of Davis Camp. Festivities include a beach party, music, bikini contest and a vendor village with a variety of unque merchants. 800-308-2253

Originally the race was a Champ Boat show with the Super Stocks. Like the crackers at the Lucas drags. But it was all about the Champ Boats. When they no longer put it on their calendar, SCSC brought in all the classes for a couple years.
Its not up to SCSC if they race there, its up to the City Council/Casinos and Tourism Entertainment Committee or something like that out of Vegas. Someone(s) decided at some point to go a different route. The first year the boats weren't there they had Mexican Street Festival instead. Then they have had outdoor concerts, all sorts of different ideas. SCSC has been in talks with them before about bringing the boats back, but so far they have gone in another direction.
What they do and the "theme" of the River Days is decided by them, not some boat club or promoter. Too bad because we like that race. It was a little too close time wise to Burley Idaho, and its always been hotter than hell when we have been there, but it is a cool place to race.

Ron Hill couldn't make that happen if he was given written instructions. The man struggles to remember how to tie his shoes in then morning and needs a video refresher just to get dressed.

Bobby, I was under the understanding that part of the reason was because the drivers and owners weren't too fond of this track due to the way the beach was set up for spectators as well as the strong current? I wouldn't know, they haven't had one since we've been racing.
