I thought it was nitro methane, had to check to be positive.
It's one of those things, if you don't know what it smells it can't be explained.

Gasoline= shitty fuel. Nitro methane = fire breathing dragon!!! Nothing beats the smell and the way it burns your eyes and lungs.

I could be wrong but seem to remember Nitro won't even light with open flame, has to be a spark and hold on to your jock strap when it ignites. :eek:

That smell almost made me pass out. Was walking in the pits and one of the Hydros started and revel engine as I was walking by OMG I couldn't breath and my eyes felt on fire

Mid 90's, took my kid to Sonoma raceway with me. He was parked in front of John Forces pit. The crew fires the car up, everyone, including myself and most everyone else around "headed for the hills". Nitro methane takes your breath away for the unfamiliar. Kid stood his ground and got Johns signature on a hat. Have it here somewhere.
