25 years ago to this day, the Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series in Game 5 against the Oakland A's. Hershiser pitched the complete game winning 5-2. Playoffs start a lot later than they used to.

That was 1988. I so remember that one. I remember where I was when I saw Kirk Gibson hit that walk off homer I'm sure was against Eckersley.
Next year was the earthquake (Giants vs A's) bay bridge series. I also so remember where I was when that quake happened. Funny how a person, like me, forgets a lot, but if you associate it with something else, you never forget. :)

I've never been to St. Louis, but my dad worked for Budweiser for 35 years, and he was a huge cardinals fan. Growing up watching them kinda just stuck with me and I've followed them ever since!

Between living there my whole until a few years ago, we moved to LOTO in 2008 and then bought the Florida house last year, St. Louis is a crazy baseball town, my Father's biggest client was AB, so growing up as a kid that's all that was allowed in the house, Budweiser or Bud Light, no other beer allowed, other than that you'll be drinking water.
Have been a Bud Light baby since I was 15 yo.

Two really tough loses! Kershaw only gave up 2 hits in today's loss. Well, back to LA 0-2, and it's almost impossible to win 3 straight in the 2-3-2 format. What do you think?

I agree. I think the Dodgers are done. IMO whoever won game 1 was the tell tale sign of who will win the series.

The Cardinals are up 2-0 and Wainwright hasn't even pitched yet.

The Boston game should be a good one.

He's definitely young and immature, how about in game 2 when he hit the triple, but thought it was an HR and stood there looking at home plate? Lol. Mattingly puts up with him, but the kid is one heck of a player and athlete.

You're harsh, for the ten years he was with the Cardinals he was one of the top five players in baseball, now, granted he left for the almighty dollar which most of us from St. Louis were glad and that we didn't give in to his salary demands, but we don't hold any ill feeling towards him, it worked out great for us, he's not worth $240 million dollars. but no player is.

He'll be back for a few more years, he's not through, now Puig, he's like a big baby, squeezing his batting helmet after he hit into a double play at his last at bat last night, doesn't seem to be a very good sport.

I would hold off a while before comparing puig to an all time great.

I think athletically he is a freak of nature. Is he the second coming of griffey Jr. Or bonds.....only time will tell

Personally I think he will end up being closer to a Vlad Guerrero and that's not a bad thing.

His plate discipline is bad and pitchers have him figured out. I see him maybe being a 30hr 270average and 90 RBI guy.

He is not mike trout;)

BTW as an angel fan I thought the signing of pujols and Hamilton were terrible ideas.

The Cardinals have never played the free agent game like a lot of the big cities like LA, Chicago and New York, they just don't have the money, but they have one heck of a farm system, 20 of the 25 players came up through their system, I think I mentioned it early that the 2013 Cards players salaries were 200 million less than the Dodgers.
That's why we let Pujols go, these guys aren't worth that kind of money, with proper baseball training you can teach the right kid.
Puig is way too immature for major league baseball right now.

It's one thing to be aggressive but not playing smart against any good team , let alone the Cards in the playoffs, is going to cost you. Ron we felt the same way. He kept over-throwing the ball when he could've targeting another runner much closer. He did not play smart at all.

Gotta go with the NL with the Dodgers out but I was hoping for East vs. West because it would be good for baseball imo. You guys are right about Puig and the stunts he pulls. He's already making bank too. As an athlete or successful person if you keep putting in the hard work and reps like Johnny football, Jordan, etc you can get away with some extracurricular stuff but I'm not sure that guy is gonna be able to figure that out any time soon...

Good series so far IMO. First thing that comes to my mind watching the Beards this many times in two weeks is....Bobby Valentine must be the worlds shittiest manager because a lot of players on his squad last year have been solid all this year and stepped up in the post season too. Go Cards I guess

I kind of likes the series and the high scoring game...I am a Sox fan and dont like a close game, way too stressful for me.
In addition I have a tendency to scare the family when I get up and start yelling at the TV for a bad call lol
