Please don't be this person who charges something for $2.24 cents, it drives me crazy, it's probably my biggest "pet pev" is being behind someone in line and having to stand there while they jack around with this, just go to the bank once a week and get some cash, that way when you need something like a soda and a bag of chips, just pay cash.

I've actually told people in front of me that were only buying $2 dollars worth of crap to just leave and I would pay for it just so I won't have to watch this happen, it's painful.

I see people doing this and wonder how do they reconcile their CC bills each month, off my soap box.

Hey Joey, not to be disagreeable, but I'm that guy too. :D
Promise I can swipe and clear checkout quicker than someone paying cash. :)
Good topic for debate today.

You would so hate me!!! I hardly ever carry cash with me...I hate going to the bank especially since everything is automated now. If I need to check my checking account balance, I just log in through my phone. I would say 95% of places accept check cards so I have a tendency to always use them.
I will say, I do get embarrassed using a card with such a little about so I Make it a point to buy things so my bill is above $5 lol

Good thing is, we are 3000 miles away and you probably wont be behind me in a line any time soon :action-smiley-069:

Yah, people paying with checks really gets me. I find the older generations to do this the most.

It's the two dollar stuff that gets me, I hate having all that CC crap in my pocket, cash is king.

Checks SUCK, that's what they have banks for.

The kind of sad thing is when you use cash the cashiers can barely give change anymore because so many use CC.

I know what you mean here. My girl likes paying with cash and if we are checking out somewhere there are times I have to tell the worker how much change to give me. Other times, you see them look at the screen to see the amount we are owed. Times like these, I shake my head in disgust lol

I never have cash either! But I can swipe my card and be gone in a min. Actually get frustrated when a cash person is in front of me digging around for the correct change.

I hope this doesn't date me to much, but I remember as a kid the workers at McDonalds wrote your order by hand and had to add it all up in a heartbeat.

Some background, thirty years ago I had a first wife, who has been a ex-wife for almost 25 years now and she never knew when to quit, so first I got rid of her, then paid off the cards and for the last twenty years I very rarely use CC, only to buy stuff on-line like airline tickets or other stuff, but other than that if I don't have the cash, I don't buy it and I mean anything, house, boat, car, no cash, no buy.

CC owned me once, never again.

Totally understand and that is the way to go.
I rarely use CC anymore either. When I pay with plastic, it is 90% of the time with my BofA check card so it comes out instantly.
314 Joey, its Friday and you are getting beet up on this thread lol :pound:

I hear ya Joey, I never run a balance, interest is just crazy! Rarely am I surprised at my CC balance, I keep good track in my head what I charged that month. For me its just more convienent to use CC.

I do not carry cash that often, but I never buy anything under $5.00. I do not use credit cards either, quit 3 years ago. If my debit "Visa" card doesn't have money then I do not purchase anything. That is what I have WMC for and that is why I have have BOFA on my phone. All I have to do is tranfer money from his account to mine and I'm a happy camper. Or better yet just take him along for the shopping and he hands me his card.

CASH, CASH, CASH, learned a long time ago all those little daily fees add up to a shit pile extra cost.

I always carry cash, but almost always use my debit card. I use cash where a card isn't an option...even for $2 ...although I don't think I could ever spend only $2 on something. My swiping hand is much faster than here's my cash...wait for my change ...put it back in my wallet.

I use a CC for my business expenses so I can keep track. Never keep a balance.

Guilty....lol

Swiped for $1.69 coffee this morning. If I have cash in my wallet I am prone to spend it faster and easier than using my card. Whats funny is I have $40 worth of cash in my wallet but don't want to waste it on coffee:D

Even if I have cash in my wallet, I will swipe my debit card and still check out faster than someone using cash... especially the ones that want to count out the exact change (frustrating)!

The other day I went to the grocery store and had to wait behind this couple who purchased some stuff with cash, some stuff with an EBT card and some stuff with some WIC coupon thing.... oh, and cashed in some lotto tickets!!! I thought I was going to flip! When I got to the checker she said "Thank you for waiting" and gave me an "I'm sorry" look. I told her they should have a special checkout line for that kind of stuff! :speechless-smiley-0

Strictly cash, unless I'm buying something VIA the itranet.

In my shop I don't allow CC's for purchases under $15.00, and under $20.00 must use DBT.

I like the idea of a special line for people with special circumstances.
This way not all of us are help up waiting for them to pay with 3 different forms of payment!

Most minor purchases I do use ca$h probably out of habit, but...
I agree that it seems most cashiers run a credit card faster nowadays than they handle currency.
No balance EVER!
Only interst I have ever paid in my life was on my home, and about 3 months on a truck loan.
Paid the house off in just over 10 years.

CC for everything here. I can swipe my card and get out of the way at Starbucks much faster than the cash guy. And now even at the store, you don't need to sign for transactions under $25 so it's faster. Receipts? I don't need a receipt. My CC statement will show me all I need to know.

Cash is for the Casino.

Cash for the small stuff. Cards for the big stuff.

My son now is able to pay at some stores with his phone.... Not sure how that works, but there seems to be a cradle you put it next to and it accesses your bank info through the phone instantly. Don't know if I trust that technology.

I wonder how much money this is costing all of us.

I imagine that we won't be using currency much longer.

I always have at least a hundred on me, maybe sometimes more. But I use the debit card a lot also. Costco ate me alive today. Fuck that place. ;)
