I dinged up my good prop a couple weeks ago (yeah I know).... Now I need to get it fixed. I had Cutting Edge do some work to it 2 years ago. Cut most of the diffuser off, and tweaked it. I told him I wanted a couple hundred more RPM's and it gave me about 100... I'm guessing.

The prop is a 28 Mach, which they apparently don't make any more. The boat has always run wet, I can't trim it enough to get the Bow out of the water

I'm thinking I want the rest of the diffuser cut off at least.. Thoughts?

A couple shots that 2FF took this weekend

The last pic has it carrying a little bow.
I'm sure you tried Bravo 1's? If not it should be easy to borrow some. ;)

I have a 26 Bravo for it.. It hates it. Buries the nose, and is 5 or 6 MPH slower, and blows out when planning. I keep it for an emergency spare.

Is you hull stepped? Grab a 28p Maximus w a 15 1/4" dia.

It made a huge difference on my straight bottom 270. I'll post the thread I started on another site.

Yes, but what does that have to do with my Boat :D

Actually it's a HP Bravo. shaft is the same as the stock bravos though... Isn't it ? What does yours have?

28,

I do have a labbed BI, and a P5X if you want to try them. They are both 28p.

heres my take,... his 28 is flattend out and is no longer a 28p prop.... I could be wrong, but the slip numbers don't jive

we were running side by side, I was at 4300/4400 rpms doing 72... he was at 5000 or over doing 72... I have a 26p he has a 28p sounds backwards...

I have a few props he can try...

I think your right.. Last time I had it worked he said I should get a couple hundred more RPM's out of it, and I did get some. He also said it had been worked before... For all I know it could be more like a 25 now...

I think a 28 is too much prop for it..

Prop don't gain or lose pitch (unless the ears are completely removed from the hub and welded back on.. They are measured in the center of the blade. Adding or removing cup can add or reduce slip, which in turns allows for the variation in RPM.

If the slip numbers don't jive, make sure the tach is reading correctly. Take GPS speed reading at every 500 RPM increments, also recording trim settings any anything else that may affect the readings. It really is the only way to truly figure out what the prop is doing. Take that info to the prop gurus and let them work their magic.

looking at the 5 blade, won't work for your boat, but pretty sure the hydro is in the right direction...

it's a 26p though... it will work if you have the bravo 1 prop shaft, xr shaft is bigger..

you can change pitch without removing the blade..

Oh ok, you're right. :thumb::rolleyes:rolleyes

But then again, I don't have to pay for props, so what would I know.
