As if there isn't enough going on that particular weekend. Here's something for you locals who are staying home to do. I think we went last year. Always some interesting stuff to see or buy. http://www.sandsportssupershow.com/

I think we're home that weekend, which is very rare. So we might head over there. Maybe Saturday.

Every time I go to events like this I get motivated to burn a hole in my pocket on shit I can't afford. I try to stay away for the sake of my pocketbook and sanity.

We've been going to this show for awhile. The previous two years kinda sucked. Empty halls, low attendance. Not much action. I'm happy to say that was simply not the case today. And Sunday's are typically much slower than Saturdays, so it had to be a been a record turn-out today. Which was awesome. A few things stuck out for me. 1. The Pfaff/Buckshot quad-rotor sand car. Can you say "wheel stander" pretty much at will, regardless of what gear you're currently in :D 2. The shear quantity of RV's. There were dozens upon dozens of them. The crowd was also there in force. Really good to see so many people at the shot. Maybe that's a good sign, or maybe all those people just didn't have anything to do today. I choose the former. Here are a few shots from today.19395193961939719399194001940119402194031940 41940519406194071940819409194101941119412194131941 41941519416194171941819419194201942119422194231939 8

Kind of bummed I missed it then but like you said, with the last couple of years sucking, I wasn't gonna risk another show without some good intel prior. Unfortunately all the intel was posted too late. :)

That was a bad ass setup. But I'm not sure how the hell you would transport a car when the slides more than likely butt up in the center. Didn't get a chance to ask the guy, we were running through the whole deal because we got there so late.

Well here is the response:

You must be referring to the 40' trailer you saw with the big slide outs. That particular trailer is not designed to haul vehicles. The vehicles are only inside the trailer for a short time until the paint is dry. Please don't hesitate to contact me should you have any more questions at all.

I guess it's a portable paint booth.
