Not sure what the "plus" is, but I have a digital 6 in an early bronco that i beat the shit out of and it has not failed. It sees a lot of weather and dirt and it has a lot of hours on it. i'm happy with it but I probably just jinxed myself.

That is the way to go for sure. Gets rid of all the add on boxes for rev control.
