You got my attention. I'm a Ford guy at heart even though my boat is powered by a GM. A Ford built right is the shit. Lets see the rest of the boat.

I think it will run pretty good given how it did with the old motor :)
I'm gonna order a mini alternator this week. Ill be running the 7 box again and magnafuel 300. Sure would be nice to use the little 50 amp deal- you guys got any experience with anything similar?

I personally have not run that alt. But don't see why you would have any issues. What battery you plan on using?

nice battery but there 59 pounds just hating cause im too cheap to spend that kind of cheddar on a battery right now. i just use the autozone marine blue tops and right before they expire i just charge the battery backwards and exchange it :)

I hear the Audisey batteries are the way to go and more reliable and liter than Optimas. Also Optimas are made in Mexico now and can fail at any time. Looks like it's time for me to change out. Lol.

I see the odyssey batteries a lot recently. I can't remember why I bought the kinetik deal when I did but I spent a lot of time on that purchase. I can't remember a lot of details on my boat anymore! Lol. I did just see that one of my intake pressure gauges leaked out all the oil jizz. That really is sucky!!

If the rubber seal is still good than you can refill it with mineral oil. Sounds like you are on the home streatch. :-)

Sister boats! keeping the pump shinny means always polishing it. I used that shark hide coating on mine this past year and it seems to work. it does take a little of the shine off though

Thanks for the compliments, @ Unashamed: there is a chance!
On my pump I use Mothers billet a couple times a year when it gets wet. That shit seems to work well on my deal and its easy to get @ the autozone. Last time i polished mine was prolly 6 months ago and it still looks good... there is gonna be a f-load of polishing on this new deal.

Thanks. Mothers seems to work best if you want to take it apart and use a wheel. I hit it with lime away first to get the film off then Mothers. goes a lot faster.
Zach, can you chrome those plates? Would be easier to keep clean.

already polished everything in the pic. Its gonna be how it is for a while untill I can send it off to Nanocoat or whatever its called. I kinda enjoy polishing shit...takes absolutely zero competence and the result is pretty :) I wish my company was that easy... lol

The polisher gave me an estimate on the manifold - 600-700. I was like whatever I'll do it myself for the much - 36 hours later j wish I would have paid the guy... The heads went pretty slick - about 12 hrs each. I love polished alum but kinda went over board this time lol

Peto builds the motors for the Predator skaters, Koerner built Wedic's motor and mostly Chevys and I havent heard of a ford from Performance Engine...

How is the motor coming?

Its on the stand at the shop. Keeping my business afloat is the priority these days. I have about an hour more of glass work to do and then the boat will ready for new gel in the engine bay. I got the mini alternator down at the shop and we gotta send the front plate back to the CNC for how we are gonna mount the alternator. The only other ting I need is the carb parts from braswell.

understand about keeping Business going. Hope you can get it ready for this summer!

Zacho!
10-31-2013, 08:58 PM
me too man! I dont know if you know my engine builder - Jeff Koerner - but I guarantee you will understand/appreciate his attention to detail, and that has alot to do with me not trying push goals that I cannot afford. basically a lesson in patience... and I get to witness how the best of the best do things...
I think it will be good to go next spring, Heather said it WILL be ready in march - and she really is the boss...

Zacho!

My Business is steadily growing slowly and to me that is Mega. Its definitely a bigger challenge than I expected, but I do see the light. And seeing the "light" means the last 10% of the motor has never been closer. I hope to have it on the dyno in the next couple 6 weeks and on the water shortly after that. If the Pump isnt overwhelmed and business stays good, I intend to race the ProZach in the near future :)

Thanks man. Its an incredible amount of work but happy as can be every minute of it. The only thing sucky is no time to work on the hot rod. I'm sure it will all be worth it in the end, but starting out is a MF'er. Almost a year now, with upcoming work nearly overwhelming. Im pretty sure in the spring I will be able to prove to 460 that my Kachina can and will run far north of 90 :) Happy New Year Dude!!!

Hotfish
01-05-2014, 08:42 AM
you should have no problem, mine runs close to 90 and im sure your new motor will make at least 100 more horse than mine. does he not think it wont happen or is he busting your balls lol

Zacho!
01-08-2014, 09:43 PM
no idea, but its all fun and games. We GPS'd 85 years ago. We never really got the solid roller to wake up until we broke a ring at bartlett , and that was the fastest the ProZach had ever run under my ownership. The current engine builder actually thought the old cam was a joke after reviewing the details so many times...
