I was shocked when I looked at my bank statements for this summer (Jun 1st-Aug 31st) to find that I spent $6000 at the local grocery store and $3000 going out to eat at restaurants.:drinkin: That's $9000 for 3 months= $3000 a month :yikes: This does not include things I paid cash for, just the ones I used a debit card for. It was a great summer but I have a really good idea now where I can make some cutbacks.

Am I out of line thinking that this is high? What do you usually spend on groceries and food for a month?

Actually it was our son's 30th b-day party. So I rented a suite, did bottle service one night, and we ate like Kings all weekend.

Start paying cash for everything. That will slow you down real quick!

Good advice!

I used my debit card which is essentially the same as cash. Only time I use credit cards is purchasing stuff on the internet.

He means actual cash. You have $500 in your wallet and the next day it is gone...you know you spent $500. Debit card receipts get stuffed in the wallet and forgotten about (if you even get receipts) until you go back and add them up.

I hate it when that happens and it happens far too often these days.... :grumble
