Do you have a pic of the bimini folded up? I had to flip mine around to clear the 6x9's installed in the rear and I don't like the way the bar sticks above the gunnels now.

soon as its light out i try to get one..

my other top is made to go inside the tower, so it's real narrow..

Nice and flat. Mine has a bend in the bar for when it's laid flat and the bend now sticks up above the gunnel. Huge PITA when loading up. It's at the perfect height to snatch my yam bag when stepping in the boat.

I like that setup for your open bow but I don't think I'd like the lowered top for my closed bow....I go out over the dash quite often.

Looking good.

So are you keeping this one?

i think i'll have it for a while,,, i paid "all the money" for it,...it had 60 hrs when i got it, and the 525 power was a good find

the ones for sell for 50 k all had 454 or 496 power, it was gonna cost 50k plus the steering to up grade the power to 525

then i'd have a 100k into a 14 year old boat with 500 hrs,,

new one would cost 140...

really wish i would have kept the 270 though... got this one riding good,... but its no 270

I agree with you. I had a low pro bimini on my previous open bow Shockwave and loved it. My current boat is a closed bow with a low pro bimini and it's a royal pain when getting in and out of the boat when beached so I rarely use it. Having a taller one made is 1st on my winter to-do list!

Steve, I think you really are crazy. Good friend of mine just had those straps bust on him up at Mead a couple of weekends ago. Had his kids in the boat when it happened. He caught in a monsoon and they broke.

Now you're running 80 with those cheesy cloth straps?

No way dude. No way. Get rid of those things and stay safe.

The straps on my 24 DCB went exactly 73MPH once. After that they never saw 60. The cheesy SS bimini I had on the Playcraft went 45 once before the bimini tried to leave the boat. $4300 later it now has a bimini that can do 55. Don't do it man.

those aren't the cheesy straps, probley 2000lb straps...the straps work better than the poles...also they put conduit in side
of the stainless...
another thing it is 60% screen ...
most of the problems with bimini's is how they are mounted and the angle..... plus they are way too high...

I've seen them look like parachutes .....

in the video, we had at least 30mph head winds....

The net bimini will definitely go faster than fabric. One of my straps tore apart, when it tore the hook on the opposite side opened up like the Governments wallet in the thick of a recession :D

My bimini say 45 mph max on a small tag. I was running another F-29 a few weeks back and the idiot was running 110 with his top up.

Don't have a newer pic but here is my rig. I saw the storm brewing and at 1st thought it was heading north but then 5 minutes later it had moved down into town so I headed for the barn. I came back to help anyone pulling out but you guys were gone to the channel.

the boat came with a wake board tower, so that's why the bimini is narrow, if and when I use the tower i'll use that bimini15754157551575615757157581575915760157611576 21576315764157651576615767

I think they are referring to a mesh strip sewn into center running parallel to boat. I have it on mine and really does help.

Actually, it is the whole thing. If it is like mine, all the fabric is mesh and not fabric like most others.

I'm past being cool :D

I'm getting a new one done this winter, vented.. But leaving it tall, maybe even taller if I can make it work.. Climbing in and out over the back with it low would suck, besides mine is a closed bow as well, and you can't get out over the front

Another point for the taller Bimini, is my boat has bolsters, and I stand up a lot while docking, and when in the rough stuff.. Ducking down for a Bimini would suck..

I'll leave the "looking cool" chit for you guys :D
