Anything wrapped in a tortilla gets my vote! You ever go over to Lavo and get their deep fried Oreos and milk shake? Awesome!
I am sad to announce that as we were leaving for our road trip, one of my kids left our second freezer open when she grabbed something out if it. In-laws found it four days later when they came to feed fish so I came home to a cleaned out fridge and freezer. That was the freezer full of all my Omaha steaks and other good meats. Still sad. :(
Gonna have to rename this site www.hotfood.com! And I'm watching MasterChef! How am I not 300lbs?!

At one point in time, my sushi biz would go through over a 50lb bag of rice a day. Multiply that by almost 18 years 7 days a week and that's a lot of sushi. Well over 772,000lbs of rice over a 16 year period. A couple of years ago when I sold the business, it was bittersweet and I do miss it sometimes.

Hard to pick a fav food. I have my spots for certain things though. I pretty much just eat at these places in rotation when I don't cook.
Most of my spots are lil hole in the walls. I'm kinda hippie when it comes to food and refuse to eat at chain restaurants other than In N Out or Del Taco when i'm hammered.
Taco Mesa in Costa Mesa - Wet Carne Asada or Shirmp Burrito and Stuffed Jalepenos
Lou's Red Oak BBQ in Huntington Beach - Tri Tip plate or Tri Tip Quesdilla
Dive Bar in Newport Beach - Steak Salad
Round Table Pizza - Chicken Artichoke Pizza or Meat-lovers w/ jalapenos
Clearman's Northwoods Inn in Covina - Cabbage salad and cheese bread
Back Abby in Claremont - Man salad or pommus fries or a burger.
Twisted Sage San Dimas CA - Seared Ahi salad
Sushi Sho in Costa Mesa - Jalapeno Eel rolls
Kings Fish House HB - Salmon Salad
La Tol Teca in Azusa - Shredded Chicken Burrito and they have the best tasting salsa (though not very hot) ever, ever!
Eat Chow in Costa Mesa - Seviche Salad or Turkey Chill Fries
Pit Fire Pizza in Newport Beach - Turkey Meat Balls or the Sauasage Party Pizza
The Old World Deli in West Covina - Chilli, Pizza, Salad bar.... hell anything!
Espios in Claremont - Salad and taco Tues. Shitty Service though.
JD Allisons in Upland - Buffalo Chicken Salad
Heroes in Fullerton - Turkey Sandwich
Larios Market - Covina (one in Chino Hills too) Great Carne Asada and they sell tacos for a buck all day. 3 of those and a glass bottle Coke on the tailgate of my truck and I'm on cloud nine!
...Damn I love food! Now I'm hungry. I forgot breakfast... I'll have to do that another time.

If you cook 10 cups of dry rice in your cooker, you need to add 8oz of sweetened rice wine vinegar. Some vinegars have more sugar than others. I like to use Marukan.
So, dump your cooked rice into a wooden or plastic bowl, let cool so it's still very warm but, not hot. Pour in vinegar and mix in. Don't mix too much or you will turn the rice into what's called moshi or, gooey rice. Oh yeah, having one of my patented pend SUSHIFRAMES helps you roll, easier, 4Xs faster, better, cleaner, safer...$29.99+shipping....It's a must!!

Hmmmmmm...no recipe really. I just combined a couple of eggs, tempura batter mix, a Corona, Progresso seasoned Italian bread crumbs, granulated garlic, pinch of tartar, lemon pepper, and water. As far as measuring any of it....nothing was measured. I added water until the batter had a little thicker consistency than pancake batter. Hope this helps.

32042 BBQ Turkey Thights & Potato Bombs!
ya know, one of my all time favorite grilled meats is a chicken thigh AND I love the roasted turkey thighs when we cook a whole turkey, it never crossed my mind to grill turkey thighs... I bet they are killer when they are slow smoked... :eat:
