Found this new view loaded up on Youtube. Good times! You can see it hit a boat at 3:30.

I would love to know the end result after the jackass move. He's lucky he didn't smash a person

I don't know what is worse... The guy in the houseboat or the guy filming the video???

Story is, the guy in the house boat was arrested for reckless endangerment. He actually thought he was getting a police escort out of the channel and that is why he did not cut the engines. If I can find the link to the press release I will post it.

I can honestly say I had the Gods of boating looking after us Memorial weekend... We missed this, the fight in the channel on Saturday, and the fight at the Turtle... Very happy we were not around for any of the chaos...

professional commentary adds a lot to the experience

Looks like a LOT of folks were lucky it was not worse.
Those couple of guys trying to stop the transom from swinging around into their boat could have been crushed very easily
:(

I agree the guy filming was pretty annoying. Damn drunk tough guys! "kill it, fucking kill it!" lol

I read the same article. The reporter said he had several years of boating experience, just not with that size of boat. Well if that's true, you'd think he'd know better than to take a boat that is nearly twice the size of the legal limit into the channel.

Yes can you imagine if he shut it off how many other boats he would hit. Your not going sit there and stop a floating houseboat from hitting you

Thats almost one of those "what would you do" kinda deal.

Those two guys trying to stop a houseboat from hitting their boat. Would you have tried that?
Thats a shit load of mass under power. So mass + force heading right toward you.

Personally I think I would have gotten the hell out of the way. No way a few hundred pounds of flesh is gonna stop, or even slow, that kind of mass.

Seems to me in the end their boat might have been damaged anyway. Why risk a limb on top of boat carnage?

Also gotta wonder wtf the drivers mentality was? Ah screw it, they're just boats. They're meant to be bumped here and there. It not like they're cars on the freeway.

I've seen people with that mentality before. And its scary as hell. Some of them dont realize boats are not bumper cars.

Oh Yeah, with the little gusts of wind that was going on,,,,,,64' houseboat in channel with power shut off, alot worse would have happened. Just a stupid move, goes without saying.

Are you saying you would have "No Toe" if you try to stop a houseboat?
