The 2013 Conquest Regatta was at the Nautical Inn this weekend. We had at least 35 boats registered and around 170 people attending the Regatta. We kicked off the event with the registration party at the Nautical Beachfront Resort's pool, then Saturday we moved down to the Turtle and the Turtle Docks. The Poker Run started at noon with four stops on Lake Havasu. Everything went off on schedule except our helicopter while inbound had some mechanical problems and overheated just outside of Havasu. They did make it to the Havasu airport but were grounded for the weekend. We tried to get another chopper out of vegas but they weren't available. We will re schedule a Conquest photo shoot and let everyone know when we can make that happen. The stereo contest had four participants. It was a close call between John Channel's 20,000 Watt Giltronix system and Meagan Kelley's system from RON'S with 9 12" subs and 13 speakers. John Channel took first place but only after I made each boat do a sound off playing an unexpected song selection, Elton John's "Bennie and the Jets". I was going to have them do the playoff with a little Rob Zombie but there were a lot of people around who I knew weren't going to appreciate that one.
