Wind, Wind, Wind and more Wind. The same wind that destroyed the tents at the Lucas Oil race in Irvine blew all the way across the southwest. Including Elephant Butte Resivivor in New Mexico. We didn't get the timing system up and running until Saturday afternoon. The Swdba tries to run a seperate points race each day Saturday and Sunday. They also like to run a Gambler each day. The wind killed those plans on Saturday. Rick Lindgren and the rest of the SWDBA crew got the lights working on Saturday afternoon. The points race was voted out and we went straight into a Gambler.
In the semi finals. The "Joker" driven by Noel Smith had a .119 reaction time and ran a 10.769 on a 10.65 dial in to defeat the "Domestic Disturbance" driven by Jason Vickers. Vickers had a .363 reaction time and ran a 7.84 on a 7.68 dial in

Sanders was taken out of compitition by Jospeh Farless in the quarter finals. Farless had a had a .683 reaction time and ran a 10.356 on a 10.30 dial in. Sanders broke out after a better .375 reaction time and ran a 10.631 on a 10.65 dial in. Yours truly Joey Hersey in the "Cowboy" had a bye run into the semis. the last race in the quarter final was between the boats of Jim Bernard and Jason Vickers. Jason Vickers ran had a .231 reaction time and ran a 7.988 on a 7.70 dial in. Bernard had a .527 reaction time and ran a 8.100 on a 7.90 dial in.
In the semis Cowboy had his best run on the weekend. It started with a .079 reaction time and it ran 15.384 on a 15.23 dial in
That run trailered the the "Kiss This" of Joseph Farless. Farless had a .705 reaction time and ran a great 10.360 on a 10.30 dial in.
The difference was the reaction time.
The final race could have been better for the "Cowboy". Jason Vickers had a .460 reaction time and ran a 7.872 on a 7.70 dial in.
He had me covered buy a full boat length at the finish line. I did not get a time in my lane but Vickers past me at the finish and didn't break out. I did not contest his win.
